The More You Know

Howdy! I’m Jonah Necela. I’m from Texas, but I now enjoy living in Lancaster while serving with YWAM. My heart is to see my generation (Gen Z) encounter God and know Him intimately! I want to inspire and challenge a generation to live for something greater than themselves—to wholeheartedly follow Jesus and make Him known to the nations of the earth. To do this, I’m serving on teams touring the U.S., visiting high schools, colleges, and churches—preaching the Gospel, championing the Great Commission, and calling youth into radical obedience.

Thank you for your prayers and partnership!

Ephesians! I love Ephesians because Paul beautifully explains who we are in Christ and then shows us what it looks like to practically walk that out.

ESV, its the translation I grew up using and I love it because its easy to read and understand while still a word for word translation of the original text!

Cambodia! During my secondary Bible school, we went to Cambodia, and it was such a great time sharing the Word of God with Cambodian pastors and leaders. Also, the smoothies there were incredible!

I felt God specifically call me into missions during The SEND in Reading, PA. This event was a wake-up call for me to the need of this generation, and I felt God inviting me to give my life to making Him known! He is too good not to share with others!

I did my DTS with Circuit Riders in Huntington Beach, California, in January 2024. It was a life-changing experience! I truly saw how living on mission and following Jesus is the most exciting and fulfilling life you could possibly live.

During a church meeting in a village in Cambodia, I truly saw how Jesus is all you need for satisfaction! We were in this small church with no lights, no AC, no chairs, and no big attendance—just a small group of believers coming together, eager to worship the Lord and hungry to know Him more.

In that moment, I realized that though there weren’t many of the physical things we often think we need, and the circumstances certainly weren’t the greatest, my heart was bursting with satisfaction! This experience forever marked me and made me eager to live my life in His fullness, no matter what my circumstances look like.
