The More You Know

Hi, I’m Paul Stoltzfus from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where I was born and raised in the Amish community. God has given me a passion to see every people group encounter Jesus through Scripture in their own language and to mobilize believers to play their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. After God transformed my life and called me to the nations, I completed the Ekballō School and Catalyst Leadership School before joining staff at YWAM Lancaster. My heart is especially for Bible translation, mobilizing young adults—including those from Lancaster County and conservative Anabaptist communities—and seeing YWAM Lancaster become a catalyst for a thriving Business as Missions movement that advances the Gospel among the unreached. I serve by helping equip and mobilize students to discover God’s heart for the nations and step into lives of radical obedience to Jesus. Thank you for praying with us as we trust God to see every tribe, tongue, people, and nation worshiping Jesus.

Acts is my favorite book because it shows ordinary believers empowered by the Holy Spirit to boldly proclaim the Gospel and make disciples among the nations. It reminds me that the same God who moved through the early Church is still at work today, inviting us to join Him in fulfilling the Great Commission.

I primarily use the English Standard Version (ESV) because I appreciate its balance of readability and accuracy to the original text. When serving cross-culturally, however, my greatest desire is for people to encounter God’s Word in their own heart language, because that’s where Scripture speaks most personally and powerfully.

India has been the most impactful place I’ve served because I witnessed God moving among people who had little or no access to the Gospel. Seeing Bible translation firsthand and watching people encounter Scripture in their own language strengthened my conviction that every people group deserves the opportunity to know Jesus.

Growing up in the Amish community, I knew about God, but it wasn’t until Jesus transformed my life that I truly understood His heart for the nations. As I spent time in Scripture and served with YWAM, God gave me a deep burden for the billions of people who still don’t have access to His Word in their own language. From that point on, I knew He was calling me to spend my life advancing Bible translation, mobilizing others into missions, and helping fulfill the Great Commission.

I completed the Ekballō Discipleship Training School in May 2026. During those five months, God gave me a deeper understanding of His heart for the nations and showed me that missions is about making disciples, not just taking trips. It was through DTS that He confirmed my calling to Bible translation and mobilizing others into the Great Commission.

One of the most impactful experiences was watching local believers record Scripture in their own heart language for communities that had never had access to God’s Word before. Seeing their joy and realizing that generations of people would be able to hear the Gospel because of their faithfulness forever changed the way I view missions and the urgency of Bible translation.
