Chris and April Zimmerman, missionaries at YWAM Lancaster

The More You Know

Hello, we are Chris and April! We are long term missionaries serving YWAM Lancaster. We committed to be part of the pioneering team in 2017 and went to YWAM Orlando for training. Since returning full-time to the Twin Pine Campus the summer of 2019, Chris has been leading the Operations Team, PA Mission Builders and volunteers, as well as Campus Development and renovations. April is a part of Food services and Hospitality. She recently earned her ServeSafe certification and will be a lead chef in the kitchen. Chris has been serving on the YWAM legal board since 2015. We have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren and are members at Petra Church in New Holland, PA. Thank you for your prayers and partnership!

John – for me it has been the book that has helped me understand Jesus the most

ESV – I will read multiple versions but if I had to choose one it would be this

There have been many locations that have been special but probably Barbados would be high on my list as well as Mazatlan Mexico. Both places had many local Ministry opportunities as well as areas to serve within the campus

Chris

There were a chain of events from 2015 through 2017 that influenced that decision. There was the growing desire to do full-time Ministry versus business and multiple words spoken over US during that season. I was asked to be part of the legal board as the vision for pioneering YWAM Lancaster was birthed.

Spring 2018
It was the training as well as the people I met that convinced me we were making the right move to full-time ywam missionaries

YWAM Bethlehem, SA
YWAM Madison
YWAM Orlando
YWAM Mazatlan
YWAM Kona
YWAM New Orleans
YWAM Keyser, WV
YWAM Guadalajara
YWAM DC
YWAM Lebanon, PA
YWAM Coatesville, PA
I’m sure there are others I’m not remembering, but every location is unique and gives an insight to a different way to do ministry serve the community and operate a campus and all of them have left me with ideas of what could happen at YWAM Lancaster either good or bad

So often we are thinking that most bases just need more people to carry the weight of ministry or growing new Ministries. Would I have seen many times is what they need the most are people to help impractical areas that are overwhelming them and take the time to honor them and hear their stories. We had a great trip to New Orleans recently that really reinforced this. They were so blessed by our team that came and served them for 10 days relieving them of numerous projects that day did not have the time or skills to take care of. We also spent time with them and heard their stories and prayed with them
