The More You Know

Hello, my name is Jessica! The Lord has given me a huge heart for women to receive true healing and life in Jesus. I grew up in a Christian home with three younger siblings in Montgomery County, PA. I began teaching piano lessons at age 12 and have always had a passion for health and fitness. I travelled to EnseƱada, Mexico, for my Discipleship Training School, where I had the opportunity share Jesus with women in the sex-trafficking industry. After working as an RN in medical-surgical units for a few years, I volunteered as a birth assistant in Kona, Hawaii, and spent time in Turkey ministering to refugees. In August of 2022, I joined staff at YWAM Lancaster with a desire for the next generation to know their identity in the Lord and make disciples of all nations. Thank you for your prayers and support!

Philippians because it encourages me to run the race fixing our eyes on Jesus, the prize and perfecter of our faith. I love to run, so it’s a great analogy for me.

I normally use ESV and also NLT because they are easier to understand.

Pakistan was the most exciting, because I had the opportunity to distribute Bibles to Muslim leaders and share about who he was to me in so many unreached places.

I had felt like the Lord was calling me into missions most of my life but didn’t feel released to pursue it until last spring. I sensed that he was leading me into a new season that wouldn’t involve typical nursing work. When I was asked to join the spring internship, I felt the Lord challenging me to trust him and jump into full time missions.

I did my DTS in 2013-2014. I saw how personal and compassionate Jesus was, as he revealed himself to many prostitutes and families in Mexico. I saw how powerful Jesus was, and I understood friendship with the Holy Spirit in a much deeper way.

I have visited YWAM Kona, a base in Germany, Reading, CA, Washington, DC, Mexico City, Santo Domingo in the DR, etc. It has always encouraged me that Jesus is moving and he reveals himself in different ways through different people.

At the Hub Learning Center School that I teach at, it’s been beautiful to see the kids start to live out their own faith. Even though they are still young and growing, I love to see the way that they step out in childlike trust and pray for people. The high school students from this school went on a trip to Mexico recently, and it’s very evident that they encountered Jesus in a transforming way. One girl shared with me about how she was healed from some childhood trauma, even though she was not expecting to receive much during this time. It makes me realize that discipling these children day in and day out will bear much fruit in the long run.
