The More You Know

Hello, my name is Sarah! I was raised in Lancaster, PA, until 2013 when our family moved to Thailand, Asia as missionaries. I first began teaching at the public schools there and quickly grew to love working in a classroom. In 2017, I moved back to the USA in pursuit of my bachelors degree in teaching and after that I taught at an elementary school in SC. In 2021, I completed my DTS at YWAM Lancaster, and in 2022, I joined staff! I have been working with the Hub learning Center, a learning community designed for families in Lancaster. I also had the privilege of working with Educating For Life, mentoring and training new teachers as they prepare for the Nations. I hope to work in Lancaster for a few years and then be sent to the nations by YWAM Lancaster. Thank you for your support!

I completed my DTS March of 2019. Living in a YWAM community and seeing all the different jobs that are done around the campus was very eye opening. You don’t have to only work with children in Africa to be a missionary, but there are endless ways you can serve the Lord, and you can use the gifts He has given you to bring Him glory!

I did 2 school at YWAM Orlando, I visited YWAM Thailand in Bangkok on my DTS, I went to YWAM Barbados for SOMD, and I have been to Circuit Riders. It is fun getting to connect with the broader YWAM family, but whenever I visit other places it just confirms my calling to be right where I am at YWAM Lancaster! It is cool to see the diversity in all the locations, but how we are all so similar since we are held together by the same values.

It is always helpful to remember the why behind what I am doing. I love the work I do, but sometimes it can get mundane. But when I remember, I am sending these emails and calling these people so that they can get trained in missions so that they can be sent so that they can help fulfill the Great Commission so that Jesus can come back, that really helps me. Everything, no matter how small the task, has a very big purpose behind it and the reason I am doing it all is unto the glory of God! It is also encouraging to talk to our students that come through our schools and hear them tell of their experience with us calling them before they got here, etc. It is also encouraging having all the details finalized for the students to come so they feel comfortable and prepared and I know on my end that things went smoothly to give them a better transition and experience in missions!
